REMOTE COACHING

Geographical location or time commitments mean we may find Telephone (or Skype) Coaching sessions or a mix of personal sessions together with Telephone/Skype/Zoom sessions, helpful.

The following explains the process and mechanics of this.

The Telephone/Skype/Zoom Coaching Session Process:

1. We agree on a date and time for your Telephone/Skype/Zoom

Our Session will usually last for 60 or 30 minutes (as agreed)

2. For Telephone sessions:

Please ring 0791 382 0755 if in the UK or +44(0) 791 382 0755 if outside of the UK at the agreed time.

For Skype sessions, please connect with me at: OxfordPsychometrics.

There may be a time differential for those ringing in from outside of the UK and therefore, all calls are based on UK GMT

For Zoom Sessions, a link will be sent prior to our agreed meeting.

3. The Telephone/Skype/Zoom session takes place in just the same way as if you were attending in person.

4. At the end of the session we set the date and time for your next session, if this is appropriate.

5. The sessions are supported by email contact / WhatsApp (if agreed) and relevant materials will be sent to you in-between, prior to or following each session.

Cancellation policy

We require A FULL 24 HOURS NOTICE regarding cancelled sessions otherwise the client or sponsoring organisation is liable for the full cost of the session, at the agreed* fee (eg £150 for 1 hr session or £70 for 30minute Session).

(*Fee is agreed at the start of the programme and will be on your contract.)

Please Note:

  • There are potential benefits and risks of video-conferencing (e.g. limits to patient confidentiality) that differ from in-person sessions.

  • Confidentiality still applies for remote psychology services, and nobody will record the session without the permission from the others person(s).

  • We agree to use the video-conferencing platform selected for our virtual sessions, and the psychologist will explain how to use it.

  • You need to use a webcam or smartphone during the session.

  • It is important to be in a quiet, private space that is free of distractions (including cell phone or other devices) during the session.

  • It is important to use a secure internet connection rather than public/free Wi-Fi.

  • It is important to be on time. If you need to cancel or change your tele-appointment, you must notify the psychologist in advance by phone or email.

  • We need a back-up plan (e.g., phone number where you can be reached) to restart the session or to reschedule it, in the event of technical problems.

  • We need a safety plan that includes at least one emergency contact and the closest emergency room to your location, in the event of a crisis situation.

  • If you are not an adult, we need the permission of your parent or legal guardian (and their contact information) for you to participate in remote psychology sessions..

  • As your psychologist, I may determine that due to certain circumstances, remote psychology is no longer appropriate and that we should continue our sessions in-person.
