Our Commitment to Social Responsibility
At Oxford Psychometrics, we believe our responsibility extends beyond workplaces and boardrooms. Our mission to create inclusive, values-driven environments is rooted in a broader vision: a world where every individual—especially the most vulnerable—has the opportunity to thrive.
We proudly support LEADS, a leading charity in Sri Lanka that has been transforming lives for more than four decades.
Who is LEADS?
LEADS began its journey in 1979, responding to a devastating cyclone on Sri Lanka’s East Coast. What started as a relief agency has grown into a powerful force for good, dedicated to alleviating human suffering and promoting wholeness among communities across the country.
By 1983, LEADS had formed partnerships with global organizations like Save the Children and Oxfam. In 1985, LEADS was granted official charity status through an Act of Parliament and registered as an NGO—a testament to its credibility and impact.
What LEADS Does Today
Today, LEADS works in thirteen districts across Sri Lanka, focusing on protecting and empowering vulnerable and abused children.
One of its most critical programs is ESCAPE (Eradicating Sexual Child Abuse, Prostitution and Exploitation), launched in 1995 to combat child sexual exploitation in Sri Lanka. Through this initiative, LEADS now touches the lives of more than 400 individuals and their families every year, offering hope, healing, and practical support.
Why LEADS is Unique
LEADS takes a holistic approach to child protection—offering emotional, legal, and educational support to children and families. It runs the only government-registered safe house in Sri Lanka for the therapeutic counselling of children, fully integrated with the judicial system.
• 90% of referrals come through the courts or the National & Provincial Probation and Child Care Services.
• LEADS conducts nationwide awareness programs for childcare professionals, teachers, parents, and caregivers, helping prevent abuse before it happens.
• It produces educational resources to strengthen child protection across Sri Lanka.
How Oxford Psychometrics Supports LEADS
In November 2020, our founder, Dr. Chintha Dissanayake, was honored to become Goodwill Ambassador for LEADS—continuing a partnership rooted in decades of community psychology work in Sri Lanka.
At Oxford Psychometrics, we contribute financially and through advocacy to help sustain this life-changing work. LEADS relies almost entirely on public donations, and every contribution helps transform a child’s life.
Why This Matters
“Every child deserves a fair chance in life—to feel safe and secure, to be loved unconditionally, and to receive an education that helps them build a future for themselves and their families.”
When we support LEADS, we support these values—the same values that guide everything we do at Oxford Psychometrics.
